Energy Minister reaches Algeria on 3-day tour

Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hasan Mahmud has arrived in Algeria on an official three-day visit from October 20 to 22 to bolster bilateral cooperation in the energy and hydrocarbon sectors.

The Minister landed in the Algerian capital, Algiers, on Monday (October 19) evening, leading a high-level delegation comprising senior ministry officials and representatives from various energy sector enterprises.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines of Algeria, the Bangladeshi Minister was received at the Presidential VIP Lounge of Houari Boumediene Airport by Algeria's Minister of State and Minister in charge of Hydrocarbons, Mohamed Arkab.

The primary objective of the visit is to deepen bilateral collaboration between Bangladesh and Algeria, with a primary focus on hydrocarbon exploration, oil, and gas production.

During the visit, the Bangladeshi delegation is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral talks with senior Algerian officials to explore avenues for expanding economic and investment partnerships.

Key discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in the oil and gas industries, as well as exchanging technical expertise and operational experience in mutual areas of interest.
