Faith must foster fellowship, not fear: Speaker

LALMOHAN, Oct 21: National Parliament Speaker and Bhola-3 MP Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram has said no one should feel fear, uncertainty or helplessness because of their religious identity, stressing that Hindus in Bangladesh are equal citizens with equal rights.

“Never consider yourselves helpless. It is the responsibility of all of us to stand beside you and look after your welfare,” he said while addressing a discussion meeting at Tuesday night at the premises of the Central Shri Shri Madan Mohan Jiu Temple in Lalmohan upazila of Bhola, following his visit to a Durga Puja mandap.

Hafiz Uddin, also a retired major, said the bonds of mutual respect, love and communal harmony among people of all religions must remain strong in Lalmohan.
