Disney+ will premiere The Pursuit: F1 Academy, a documentary special following female racing drivers in the all-female F1 Academy series, globally on November 19, ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Produced in association with ESPN, the documentary will offer behind-the-scenes access to the 2025 F1 Academy season, following drivers Doriane Pin, Maya Weug, Chloe Chambers and Alisha Palmowski as they navigate competition and the challenges of pursuing careers in motorsport.

Filmed at race venues across the 2025 calendar, the documentary will explore the pressures of racing, personal sacrifices, ambition and representation in a traditionally male-dominated sport. It will also feature insights into the teams and leadership behind the series, including F1 Academy managing director Susie Wolff.

The special will also be available on the ESPN app later this year.

The release is part of “Fuel the Magic”, a multi-year collaboration between Disney, Formula 1 and F1 Academy aimed at connecting storytelling, racing culture and fan experiences.

The partnership expanded in 2026 to include F1 Academy, with Disney characters Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck featured in initiatives promoting confidence and representation in motorsport.

Joss Hastings, senior vice-president of marketing at Disney Consumer Products, said the documentary would extend the partnership into streaming and storytelling while highlighting the drivers’ courage and ambition.

Wolff said the documentary would show the sacrifices, setbacks and successes that shape the drivers’ journeys, both on and off the track.

She expressed hope that their stories would inspire young women to pursue their ambitions despite the challenges.
