Thousands of fans entered the concert venue after security barriers broke shortly before popular singer James and his band Nagar Baul were due to perform at Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka on Friday evening.
The incident took place at the Carnival Arena during the ‘Rock N Rhythm 5: No Limits in the Zone’ concert on October 23, drawing a large crowd of music lovers eager to watch their favourite performers.
Fans began gathering outside the venue from noon, and the arena became packed as evening approached. The barriers broke shortly before James took the stage, allowing thousands to enter the venue.
The uncontrolled entry caused difficulties for ticket-holders, who complained of overcrowding and disorder. As the situation became difficult to manage, the organisers opened the main gates, leaving some paying spectators dissatisfied with the arrangements.
One of the concert’s major attractions was guitarist and musician Oni Hasan performing on stage with Warfaze for the first time in 12 years.
The line-up also featured Nagar Baul’s James, ARK’s Hasan, Warfaze, Aurthohin, Shunno and AK Rahul.
Earlier, Mozammel Haque Jony, chief executive officer of Adventor Communications, said the fifth season of Rock N Rhythm aimed to introduce new elements to Bangladesh’s concert experience and create a distinctive atmosphere for rock music fans.
