EC extends voter transfer application deadline to Nov 1

The Election Commission (EC) has extended the deadline for submitting applications to transfer voter registration due to changes of residence ahead of local government elections until November 1.

Applications will be received until Sunday (November 1), according to an official letter issued on Wednesday (October 28).

The letter, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Md Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, said the deadline had initially been set for October 31.

However, as October 30 and 31 fall on Friday and Saturday, respectively, and are weekly holidays, the deadline has been extended to the next working day, November 1.
