The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has ensured that elderly passengers and people with disabilities can use priority seats on metro rail coaches following a passenger’s death.
The measure was implemented during a mobile court operation conducted from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday (October 28), according to a DMTCL press release.
Led by Executive Magistrate Masuda Akter, the operation also removed illegal shops and structures near Mirpur-11 Metro Rail Station.
The drive cleared floating shops and other unauthorised structures obstructing pedestrian movement to ensure a safer and more accessible environment for commuters.
During the operation, officials also ensured that priority seats inside metro rail coaches were reserved for elderly passengers and people with disabilities.
