BNP leader demands Brahmanbaria division with 3 districts

A BNP leader has proposed forming a new administrative division comprising Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj and Habiganj, with Brahmanbaria as its headquarters.

Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan, a member of the Brahmanbaria district BNP, made the proposal in a Facebook post on Friday (October 30).

According to his proposal, the division would cover around 8.93 million people across 31 upazilas. He argued that the region's agricultural, fisheries, gas, industrial and transport resources could support economic growth and improve access to public services.

However, he described the proposal as his personal opinion.
