Govt deliberately delaying city corp polls: IAB

Islami Andolon Bangladesh (IAB) accused the government of deliberately delaying city corporation elections, alleging that its declining popularity has made it apprehensive about facing voters.

K M Shariatullah, chief coordinator of the party's central media cell and secretary of its Dhaka Metropolitan South unit, claimed that the government was reluctant to hold the elections for fear of an unexpected electoral outcome.
