The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has declared a general holiday for all garment factories across the country on November 7 to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
The BGMEA announced the decision in a press release on Thursday (November 5), confirming that all garment factories would remain closed on the day.
Earlier, on October 21, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification declaring November 7 a public holiday every year in observance of National Revolution and Solidarity Day, following a Cabinet decision.
The Cabinet took the decision at a meeting on October 5, also placing the day in category 'A' of the national and international observance list.
The BGMEA's announcement follows the government's decision to include November 7 in the annual public holiday calendar.
