At least eight individuals were injured in a violent clash between two factions of BNP under Fatullah police station jurisdiction of Narayanganj district on Saturday afternoon.
According to eyewitnesses, the clash occurred at Shihachor Hajibari Mor around 3:00 PM between supporters of Fatulla Tati Dal president Yunus Master and former Kutubpur union Jubo Dal president Zainal Abedin.
Both factions have long-standing disputes over establishing local influence, including control over factory waste, land disputes, drug trafficking, extortion and dominance in the area.
The violent clash lasted 15–20 minutes, leaving eight individuals injured.
Following the incident, joint forces arrested Zainal Abedin, former Kutubpur union Jubo Dal president, Mehedi Hasan Dolon, former district Chhatra Dal organizational secretary and Akash, Juel, Riazul, Rajib, Jihad and Rashid.
However, Yunus Master managed to escape during the clash.
Joint forces also recovered hemp, heroin and parts of exploded bombs from the suspects.
Fatullah Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Mannan confirmed the incident and said that the incident has been reported to senior officials and further updates will follow.
