
NAOGAON, Jan 10: Obaidul Haque, senior journalist and Naogaon district correspondent of Daily Observer, passed away on Saturday at 12:01am at Naogaon Sadar Hospital. He was 66. (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un).
Haque had been battling complications in both kidneys since 2021. Three days before his death, he suddenly fell seriously ill and was admitted to Naogaon Sadar Hospital, where he later died during treatment.
During his career, Haque held key positions in the Naogaon District Press Club and was an elected executive committee member of the current committee. His passing drew condolences from the Naogaon District Press Club, Naogaon Journalists' Unity Alliance, Unitred Press Club Naogaon, and other journalist bodies. Leaders including President Md Sadekul Islam, General Secretary Mahmudun Nabi Belal, Unitred Press Club President Sabbir Ahmed, and others expressed profound sorrow.
The Daily Observer family also expressed deep condolences for his departed soul.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
