Firearms, ammo recovered in Ctg

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) recovered a locally made pipe gun and ammunition from bushes in Rauzan upazila of Chattogram district on Friday night.

Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team of RAB officials conducted a drive in Rahmatpara area under Ward No. 9 of Rauzan Municipality.

Sensing the presence of law enforcers, several individuals reportedly fled the scene, leaving behind a plastic bag.

Upon searching the bag, RAB personnel recovered one locally manufactured pipe gun, four shotgun cartridges, two pistol cartridges and an iron pipe.

Confirming the incident, RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozzafar Hossain said that the seized firearm and ammunition have been handed over to the concerned police station for legal action.

He added that efforts are underway to identify and trace those involved in leaving the arms at the spot, added the official.
