A case has been filed against around 100 unidentified people over an attack and vandalism at an HSC examination centre in Char Fasson, Bhola, after invigilators allegedly prevented candidates from cheating.
The case was lodged late Saturday by Md. Mohiuddin, acting principal of Fatema Matin Women's College and secretary of the examination centre. Char Fasson Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mahamud Al-Farid Bhuiyan confirmed the matter on Sunday.
According to the case statement, some examinees became agitated during the ICT examination after they were denied unfair means. Following the exam, a group of students allegedly broke through a side gate, entered the college campus, vandalised property and attempted to seize answer scripts.
Seven teachers on examination duty and the chairman of the college governing body were injured after being hit by bricks, while police later brought the situation under control, including firing tear gas, police said.
Police said CCTV and video footage are being reviewed to identify those involved, and legal action will be taken against the perpetrators. No arrests had been made as of Sunday, while the investigation is ongoing, the OC added.
