Ahead of the upcoming Ramadan, Hafezzi Charitable Society of Bangladesh (HCSB) has distributed food assistance and wheelchairs to 150 underprivileged families of persons with disabilities in Savar.

The organization contributed a total of Tk 700,000 for this initiative.

The distribution program was held on Sunday (February 15) on the Chapain New Model High School premise, where month-long food supplies were distributed among the beneficiary families. In addition, approximately Tk 360,000 was allocated for the preparation and distribution of wheelchairs.

Among those present at the event were the organization’s President, Maulana Mahfuzul Haque; Adviser Major General (Retd.) Abu Naser Ilyas; Adviser Professor Maulana Abed Ali; Senior Vice President Professor Amirul Islam; and Executive Member Professor Md. Abdul Qayyum.

The organization is also active internationally. It has previously carried out humanitarian operations in Gaza, Sudan, Nepal, and Turkey. Its humanitarian efforts have been covered directly from crisis-affected regions by international media outlets such as BBC and Al Jazeera.

In a joint statement, Director General Muhammad Raj and General Secretary Maulana Ibrahim Khalil emphasized that sustained support from donors at home and abroad is essential to ensure medical care, rehabilitation, safety and seasonal humanitarian assistance for families with disabilities.

They urged financially capable individuals to contribute through zakat, fitra, sadaqah jariyah and general donations to support this humanitarian initiative.
