A Dhaka court on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against Tulip Siddiq, the niece of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, in connection with a corruption case involving the alleged illegal acquisition of a flat in the capital’s Gulshan area.

The warrant was also issued against Sardar Mosharraf Hossain, a former assistant legal adviser of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha, after the court accepted a charge sheet filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order and asked authorities to submit a report on the execution of the arrest warrants by March 8, according to ACC public prosecutor Mir Ahammed Salam.

The anti-graft body had filed the case on April 15, 2025, accusing Tulip Siddiq, Sardar Mosharraf Hossain and another official, Shah Md Khasruzzaman, of illegally obtaining a flat from Eastern Housing Limited in Gulshan-2.

Case documents allege that the accused, acting in collusion, abused their official positions to take possession of the property without making any payment and later had it formally registered in their names. The flat in question is located at Flat B/201 of a residential building on Road 71 in Gulshan-2.

The ACC submitted its charge sheet on December 11, 2025, naming Tulip Siddiq and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain as accused in the case.
