Two killed as bus hits Leguna in Jatrabari

Two people have died and another has been injured after a speeding bus ploughed into a small passenger carrier, locally known as a "Leguna", in Dhaka's Jatrabari area while passengers were getting off.

The incident occurred around 9:30am on Sunday in the Ghuntighar area of Mirhajirbag, according to Mohammad Raju, chief (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station.

The victims were identified as Azizul Islam, 58, and Saiful Islam, 55, both residents of Gendaria. They were passengers on the Leguna at the time of the crash.

Azizul worked for a private company, while Saiful was employed at a motor parts shop.    "bdnews24
