Teachers will no longer take to street for rights: Edu Minister

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has stated that teachers will no longer need to resort to street protests to secure legitimate rights, asserting that the government has accorded the education sector the highest policy priority and that "initiatives will be taken to implement the reasonable demands of teachers and employees in phases".

He delivered the statements on Sunday afternoon as chief guest at a consultation meeting with representatives of the Teachers Employees Unity Alliance held at the conference room of the Ministry of Education, where he emphasised fiscal and administrative constraints and said that although "there are some budget related limitations, other demands of teachers will be presented to the prime minister."

He clarified that "since many issues are not included in the new budget, it is not possible to implement all the demands immediately, but the government is sincere in this regard", signalling a phased compliance mechanism subject to treasury allocation and executive sanction.
