CHATTOGRAM, Mar 30: The Anesthesia Department at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has taken the initiative to expand the Orthopedics Emergency Operation Theater (OT), refurbish classrooms, and build a contemporary library.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain inaugurated these development activities as the chief guest at a programme organized by the hospital's Anesthesia Department on Monday.
Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said that there is no alternative to infrastructural development to ensure modern and timely medical services. This expansion of Chittagong Medical College Hospital will ensure fast and improved treatment for patients and will help improve the overall quality of healthcare.
He also said that increasing emergency operation facilities is the need of the hour, especially considering the number of road accidents and various trauma patients. The expanded Orthopedics Emergency Operation Theatre (OT) will play an important role in this regard. In addition, the modern library and advanced classrooms will play an effective role in training, research and improving the skills of doctors.
Mayor said that the introduction of the new Operation Theatre (OT) will increase the capacity of emergency surgical services, reduce the waiting time for operations and reduce the suffering of patients. At the same time, the modern library will be helpful in the knowledge and research of doctors and the renovated classroom will further accelerate academic activities.
Among others, CMCH Director Brig Gen Dr. Md. Taslim Uddin, Head of the Department of Anesthesia Prof Dr. Harun Or Rashid, Prof KM Baki Billah, Assistant Prof Dr. Md. Mohiuddin Majed Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Child Health Prof Dr. Mohammad Musa Miah, Associate Prof Dr. Belayet Hossain Dhali, Assistant Prof Dr. Javed Bin Amin, Assistant Prof Dr. Mahmud Al Farabi, Associate Prof Dr. Mohiuddin Manik, Dr. Ilham Imam, Dr. Riasat Shahabuddin, Dr. Samiul Karim, Dr. Afrina Jahan Shefa, Dr. Zahir Shah and other doctors from the relevant departments were present on the occasion.
