DU VC stresses stronger collab to strengthen research capacity

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr A B M Obaidul Islam urged stronger collaboration with industry and alumni to strengthen the university’s academic and research capacity.

He made the call on Saturday while addressing the inaugural session of the ‘Public Administration International Conference’, organised by the Department of Public Administration at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building of DU.

The DU VC said, “We want to build the University of Dhaka on a strong academic foundation through excellence in education and research. To establish the university as a distinctive institution internationally, our faculty members and researchers must ensure the highest standards of academic performance.”

He also stressed the need for dedicated research funding, saying that limited government financing leaves little surplus after regular university operations. He called for stronger links with domestic and international industries and research institutions and sought greater support from alumni for students and researchers.
