2 held with firearms in Khulna

Police arrested two individuals along with a foreign firearm from Boyra area in Khulna city on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrested were identified as Mamun Molla, 30, son of Hafiz Molla of Haji Faizuddin Cross Road, and Lovlu Ahmed, 28, son of Badrul Alam of Rayermohol Bara Mosque area.

According to police, a police patrol team noticed three youths standing in front of a house in the area. Sensing police presence, one of them fled, raising suspicion.

Police then searched the remaining two who were on a motorcycle and recovered a foreign firearm and a magazine from Lovlu Ahmed’s waist around 3:45 PM on Haji Faizuddin Cross Road near Aziz’s intersection and arrested them.

Sonadanga Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Rafiqul Islam said that legal action is being processed under the Arms Act.
