Trader fined over illegal edible oil production in N'ganj

A mobile court and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) team fined a trader of a establishment at Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district over allegedly producing and marketing edible oil illegally on Wednesday. 

The drive was led by Executive Magistrate Khandaker Shamit Raja of the district administration. Members of RAB-11 and police were also present during the drive.

Mohin Bhuiyan, the owner of Meyaz Food Products, was fined Tk 2 lakh during a drive conducted at Khalpar Chengain area under Kanchpur union of the upazila.

According to RAB-11 sources, Meyaz Food Products company had been illegally producing and marketing edible oil for a long time. During the drive, the company was found to be bottling about 1,200 liters of illegal edible oil. 

The Executive Magistrate stated that their campaign against these illegal activity will continue in the future.
