47th Nat'l Science-Tech Week begins in districts

The 47th National Science and Technology Week, Science Fair and 10th National Science Olympiad have begun in Bhandria and Kawkhali upazilas of Pirojpur District and Birol Upazila of Dinajpur District on Wednesday under the theme 'Science and Technology in Building an Innovation-Based Bangladesh'.

PIROJPUR:  In Bhandaria Upazila of the district, the two-day the 47th National Science and Technology Fair has begun formally inaugurated by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Hasibul Hasan as the chief guest on the Upazila Parishad premises on Wednesday morning.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (AC)- Land Ujjwal Halder, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Sudeb Sarkar, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Jahangir Hossain, Upazila Election Officer Md. Shahin Sharif, Upazila Family Planning Officer Shilpi Rani, Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Md. Shamim Hawlader and others attended the inaugural ceremony.

A total of 20 stalls from various educational institutions of the upazila have been placed in the fair.

As part of the fair, a 'Science Olympiad' and 'Quiz Competition' were held in the upazila auditorium participated by students from various secondary and higher secondary levels of the upazila.

The organizers said that prizes will be distributed among the winners at the closing ceremony on April 9.

In Kawkhali Upazila of the district, the two-day  National Science and Technology Week, Science Fair and 10th National Science Olympiad have begun. UNO Md. Asaduzzaman inaugurated the fair as the chief guest on the Upazila Parishad premises.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kawkhali Police Station (PS) Md. Yakub Hossain, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Abdul Hannan, Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Pradeep Kumar Halder, Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Hafizur Rahman, along with teachers from various educational institutions of the upazila, attended the fair.

BIROL, DINAJPUR: UNO Zimran Mohammad Sayek inaugurated the fair as the chief guest at the Birol Upazila Parishad Auditorium.

AC (Land) Prabir Biswas, Birol PS OC Md. Al Emran, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Partha Zimoy Sarkar, Upazila Agriculture Officer Rumman Akhtar, Upazila Social Service Officer Rajul Islam, Veterinary Surgeon Akhtaruzzaman, and Assistant Secondary Education Officer (Acting) Arif Iqbal spoke as the special guests. Assistant Professor of Boardhat College Bidhan Kumar Dutta moderated the programme.

After the official inauguration, the guests visited the stalls of the fair and were informed about the innovative technologies of the students.
