Two found dead at Kalapara, Santhia

Two persons were found dead in separate incidents in Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali District and Santhia Upazila of Pabna District on Tuesday.

KALAPARA, PATUAKHALI: A team from Payra Port River Police and the Fire Service recovered the floating body of a fisherman from the Rabnabad River near the Jetty No. 1 of Payra Port on Tuesday afternoon, two days after he went missing.

Deceased Badal Sardar, 25, was the son of Md Wahid Sardar of Kalaiya area in Bauphal Upazila of the district.

Inspector (Unarmed) and in-charge of the Payra Port River Police Outpost Nayan Karkun said that after receiving information from local residents on Tuesday, they recovered the body from the river around noon. Necessary legal procedures are currently underway.

SANTHIA, PABNA: Police recovered the slit-throat body of an onion trader from Manik’s pond in the Miapur Minarpara area of Santhia Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

Deceased Abdul Aziz, 55, was the son of late Seken Sardar of Dangamaz Village in Khetupara Union of the upazila.

Quoting family members and local residents, Officer-in-Charge of Santhia Police Station Anisur Rahman said Aziz left his home on Monday night after evening prayers and did not return. Being informed by the locals, the police recovered the body from the pond and sent it to the Pabna morgue for an autopsy.
