The fire that broke out at a slum at Diabari area of the capital on Thursday evening has been brought under control without any reported casualties.
The blaze, which originated at Oli Matborer Bosti around 6:40 PM, prompted a swift response from the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
A total of five firefighting units, two from Uttara Fire Station and three from Tongi, were deployed to the spot and managed to douse the flames by approximately 7:15 PM.
FSCD headquarters media cell warehouse inspector Anwarul Islam confirmed the incident.
Earlier, fire officials had reported that multiple units were working to bring the fire under control after it broke out near the Ranabhola area.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be immediately ascertained.
