Police has arrested seven accused involved in various cases in a special drive to maintain law and order ahead of Pohela Baishakh at Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj district.
According to police sources, a special drive was conducted for 12 hours on April 12 to 13 under the guidance of Munshiganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Menhazul Alam, PPM and under the leadership of Sirajdikhan Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md. Abdul Hannan.
The raids were conducted in different areas of the upazila.
Police said that the arrested are absconding accused in various cases.
The OC said, "Our special operation is continuing to ensure public safety on the occasion of Pohela Baishakh. Legal action has been taken against the arrested and they have been sent to jail through court."
Such operations will continue in the future to curb any kind of crime surrounding the upcoming festival, added the OC.
