Mymensingh Medical College (MMC) has suspended all academic activities and exams for seven days following a violent clash between two rival factions of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD).

The conflict erupted on Friday night at the Baghmara hostel, leaving two students-- Md Muaj and Mir Hamidur-- severely injured.

In response, an emergency academic council meeting on Saturday ordered all students to vacate their dormitories by 8AM to prevent further escalation.

Reportedly the clash began over a minor dispute regarding motorcycle fuel, which quickly escalated into a physical clash.

Due to the severity of his wounds, Muaj has been moved to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, while Hamidur remains under treatment at MMC Hospital.

Officer in-charge of Mymensingh Kotoyali Police station Md Shibirul Islam stated that they have detained one suspect, Nafiul Islam, as investigations continue.

Dr. Md Nazmul Alam Khan, Principal of Mymensingh Medical College, stated that the closure is necessary to ensure campus safety while the authorities investigate the cause behind the violence.
