Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) has launched a free motorcycle training program aimed at equipping students with practical life skills while promoting road safety across campus.

According to DUCSU Executive Member Imran Hossain, a total of 303 students have successfully completed the course over the past three months. The training sessions are held daily at the Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall field and the university’s Central Playground, offering a safe and supportive environment for beginners.

The initiative emphasizes inclusivity, with female instructors available for women participants. This has led to a strong response from female students, contributing to the program’s growing popularity.

“We want to create skilled riders to help reduce road accidents,” Imran said, noting that student participation continues to rise steadily.

Currently, the program is funded through personal contributions and volunteer efforts. Organizers are seeking institutional support to sustain and expand the initiative. If funding is secured, DUCSU plans to introduce car driving lessons in the future, further enhancing students’ practical skill sets.
