Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament, Barrister Kayser Kamal, has stressed the need for ruling and opposition party members to work “shoulder to shoulder” on issues of national importance, emphasising the importance of unity in Parliament.

He made these remarks in Parliament on Monday during a discussion on two separate adjournment motion notices related to fuel pricing and its broader impact, which were moved by Opposition Leader Shafiqur Rahman and Jamaat MP Nurul Islam (Chapainawabganj-3).

Describing the discussions as a reflection of a constructive and cordial parliamentary atmosphere, the Deputy Speaker said such debates contribute to strengthening democratic practices in the House.

Referring to the Rules of Procedure, he noted that instead of formal adjournment motions, discussions could be continued through alternative procedural provisions.

Earlier, the day’s sitting resumed at 3:05 PM under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal.
