A total of 195 SSC examinees sat for the Bangla exam with wrong question paper on the first day at different centres in Jashore, Kushtia and Narayanganj districts.

JASHORE: An SSC examinee was allegedly given the wrong question paper during the Bangla Ist Paper exam at a centre in Jashore, causing concern among guardians and teachers on the first day of the ongoing examinations.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at Jashore Government Girls' School centre.
The affected candidate, Mostafa Anjum Abir, a student of Jashore Zilla School and a child with special needs, was reportedly seated in a separate room. He was first handed the 2026 creative (written) question paper and later provided with an objective (MCQ) paper intended for irregular candidates of the 2025 session. As the questions were from a different syllabus, he could not answer properly.

Centre Secretary Nurul Islam said the combined results of both Bangla papers determine the final grade, adding that the student could still pass with a good performance in the second paper. He also suggested applying to the education board.
Jashore Education Board Chairman Prof Dr Mosammat Asma Begum said an investigation has been ordered.

DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA: It has been alleged that 17 students from Nasir Uddin Biswas School and College sat for the SSC exam with the wrong question paper (in the 2025 syllabus) on the first day of the exam at the Daulatpur Government Pilot Secondary School Centre in the upazila.
Although a new question paper was given after an hour, the students faced trouble as they were given only half an hour of extra time as compensation.

Upon learning of the matter, Daulatpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Anindya Guha arrived at the centre and spoke to the affected students and the teachers present. After getting evidence of the incident, he contacted the Examination Controller of the Jashore Education Board and immediately relieved the centre secretary Yar Ali, invigilators Baharul Islam and Rasheda Khatun from all examination-related responsibilities.

SONARGAON, NARAYANGANJ: Authorities have recommended departmental action against the centre secretary of an SSC examination centre in Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj for allegedly allowing 177 regular candidates to sit for the exam with a 2025 question paper.

The recommendation was made in a letter signed by Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Prof Dr Khondokar Ehsanul Kabir on Wednesday. The board also relieved 11 teachers from all SSC examination duties for negligence, according to another letter signed by Controller of Examinations Prof SM Kamal Uddin Haidar.

In a separate order, Sonargaon UNO Asif Al Jinath removed the accused centre secretary, Md Abdul Matin Sarkar, and replaced him with Md Jahangir Alam, headmaster of Panchamighat High School.

The teachers relieved of invigilation duties include Shiuli Akter of Kanchpur Omar Ali High School, Farzana Hossain Swapna of Sonar Bangla High School, Monowara Begum, Rownok Ara Begum and Anichur Rahman of Panchamighat High School, Sumaiya Azad of Sonargaon Ideal School, Mosharraf Hossain of Sayed Khatoon Islamic Dakhil Madrasa, Badrun Nahar Eva of Akbar Ali High School and College, Moniruzzaman of Sadipur High School, Shanowara Begum of Meghna Industrial Area High School, and Abdul Hamid of Jampur Majher Char High School.

According to sources, 760 students from four institutions took part in the SSC exam on Tuesday, the first day, at the Kanchpur Omar Ali High School centre. Of them, 177 candidates were mistakenly given question papers based on the 2025 syllabus and sat for the exam for about one hour and 25 minutes.

UNO Asif Al Jinath said both administrative and departmental actions have been recommended, while the 11 teachers have been removed from all SSC-related duties.
