Man killed in Bogura lightning strike

A man was killed after being struck by lightning in Bogura’s Gabtali upazila on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sumon, 35, son of Md Abdul Karim, a resident of Muchikhali village under Sonaray union of the upazila.

According to locals, the incident occurred around 3:45 PM while attempting to bring back his goat from a field. Shortly after reaching the field, he was struck by lightning and died on the spot.

Gabtali Police Station inspector (investigation) Md Abu Musa said that an unnatural death (UD) case has been filed and legal procedures are underway.
