4 killed as truck rams autorickshaw in M'singh

Four persons were killed and two others injured after a truck rammed into a CNG-run autorickshaw in Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh on Monday.

Around 11:45AM, a Mymensingh-bound sand-laden truck rammed into an oncoming autorickshaw, carrying passengers, at Kumaragata Samitighar area on the Mymensingh-Tangail highway, according to the local residents.

The tragic accident later left three dead on the scene. The truck turned down on the road and the autorickshaw got twisted.

The truck driver, his assistant and the CNG driver were rescued from the spot and sent to a nearby hospital where another one succumbed to his injuries.

The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.

Fire service officials said they recovered the bodies after receiving information through the national emergency service 999.
