Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman has said the issue of why some children were not given measles vaccines will be investigated.

The interim government never wants any incident like child deaths to occur, the adviser said while speaking at a press briefing organised at the Directorate of Information at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

''It is essential to find out why vaccines were not administered in some cases.''

He said that significant progress has been made in the government's ongoing vaccination campaign. So far, approximately 1.61 crore children aged six months to under five years have received measles vaccines, which is 89 per cent of the total target.
