THAKURGAON, May 5: A human chain and rally was held at the district Civil Surgeon (CS)'s office on Monday to protest the cancellation of the employees recruited through outsourcing of the 2014-15 fiscal year of the four Upazila Health Complexes of the district, and to demand their full reinstatement.
Dilip Kumar Roy, Sunil Chandra Roy, Mehedi Hasan Ismail, Mosammad Rakhi, Swapan Gani, Asma Khatun, Ainul Haque, Asif Arafat, Mosammat Lovely, Rukhsana Begum, Habiba Khatun, Sanjeeb Chandra Sen and others spoke at the programme.
The speakers said, "Our recruitment has been cancelled despite ignoring the recently published 2025 Outsourcing Policy. We want our recruitment to be fully reinstated." The speakers also warned that if the authorities fail to do so, they will raise a tough movement.
At that time, all the 59 employees of four upazilas of the district were present whose appointments had been cancelled since 30/04/2026 in the 2025-26 fiscal year by appointing new contractors through outsourcing.
In this connection, CS Dr Anisur Rahman said, "Since they were appointed through a contracting organisation and that organisation dismissed them, we will look into the matter. If the government increases manpower by considering the humanitarian aspect, we will work on their issue. Why their appointments were cancelled will also be investigated."
