Neela Israfil has announced her intention to contest the upcoming mayoral election of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

The former Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) leader revealed her candidacy on Tuesday night through a poster shared on her verified Facebook account.

In her message, Israfil said growing public encouragement motivated her decision to enter the race. She outlined her vision for transforming Dhaka into a cleaner, safer, and more livable city.

“A clean, safe and livable Dhaka is our right,” she wrote, while seeking the support and prayers of residents.

Her entry is expected to add fresh momentum to the DSCC mayoral contest, which is likely to attract considerable political interest.
