Dear sir,
Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital is one of the leading government healthcare institutions in Bangladesh. Every day, a large number of patients from different parts of the country come here for treatment. But there is a severe shortage of safe and clean water.
As this problem has persisted for a long time, patients continue to suffer greatly. The situation in the bathrooms and toilets is miserable due to the irregular water supply. There are only two drinking water booths on the ground floor, where patients and visitors have to buy water at their own expense. The absence of water in wash basins makes it difficult to maintain proper hygiene.
Due to inadequate use of clean water, patients are becoming vulnerable to waterborne diseases such as diarrhea and skin infections. Doctors, nurses, ward boys, and other hospital staff are also suffering from this crisis.
I sincerely urge the concerned authorities to take immediate steps and ensure regular monitoring so that uninterrupted access to clean water can be ensured in the hospital.
