3 juvenile gang members held in Khulna

Police arrested three members of a juvenile gang along with locally made arms from Khulna’s Sonadanga police station area on Monday night.

The arrested were identified as Md Akash Ahmed Jony, 19, Sharier Imon, 19 and Md Nafizul Islam, 19.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of policemen conducted a drive at Basupur Main Road area inside Basupur Nursery and arrested the trio with locally-made arms.

During the drive, police recovered a black Chinese axe, a silver-coloured metal punch and a black schoolbag from their possessions.

Banikhamar Police Outpost sub-inspector (SI) Md Faruk Alam confirmed the arrests and said that a case was filed with Sonadanga Police Station on Tuesday in connection with the incident.

'Police are investigating the matter,' added the official.
