Teesta express claimed 2 lives in Gazipur

Two unidentified youths were killed after being struck by the Teesta Express in Gazipur on Wednesday night while reportedly sitting beside a railway track.

The accident occurred around 9:30pm at Dhirashram area along the Dhaka"Joydebpur railway route.

After receiving information from locals, police rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies.

Confirming the incident, Joydebpur Railway Police outpost in-charge Kaiyum Ali said the two youths were sitting near the rail line when the Teesta Express ran over them.

He added that the identities of the victims could not be confirmed immediately and efforts are underway to identify them.

Legal procedures related to the incident are currently in progress, the official added.
