Ctg gunshot victim dies at CMCH

An 11-year-old girl who sustained bullet injuries during a shooting incident in Chattogram city’s Bayezid area died while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Reshmi Akter, daughter of Riaz Ahmed of Raufabad Bihar Colony under Bayezid Bostami Police Station.
According to the hospital sources, Reshmi died around 10:00 AM while receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.
According to locals, Reshmi was injured in a gun attack carried out by miscreants at Raufabad Shaheed Minar Gali on the night of May 7. During the incident, a youth named Raju was shot dead.
Reshmi was reportedly hit by a bullet in her left eye while going out of her house to buy paan.
Confirming the matter, Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Director Brig Gen Taslim Uddin said the child had been admitted to the ICU since last Friday.
“She died this morning while undergoing treatment,” he added.
