New UAE committee of PROSAS formed

A new executive committee for the 2026-2027 term of the "Probashi Sangbadik Samity (PROSAS)," the first organization of Bangladeshi journalists in the United Arab Emirates, has been formed. The 17-member committee was announced at a meeting held in Dubai on Wednesday (May 20).

In the new committee, Saiful Islam Talukdar, UAE correspondent of DBC News and Daily Observer, has been re-elected as President, while M Abdul Mannan, representative of Bangla TV, has been re-elected as General Secretary.

Other members of the committee are Vice President Nasim Uddin Akash (Daily Suryodoy), Vice President Mohammad Salahuddin (Daily Inqilab), Organizing Secretary Gias Uddin Sikdar (BBC, Ekattor), Assistant Organizing Secretary Md. Monir Uddin Manna (Probashir Prohor), Office Secretary Moinul Islam Talukdar (DBC News, Abu Dhabi), Publicity Secretary Obaidul Haque Manik (52 TV), Assistant Publicity Secretary Mohammad Selim (Bongo TV), Finance Secretary Obaidul Haque (Daily Deshkal), Assistant Finance Secretary Nurullah Shahjahan Khan (K TV), Cultural Secretary Mahbub Sarkar (Bishwa Bangla TV), and Information & Technology Secretary Sahed Sarwar (Kolom TV).

The committee members also include Mohammad Ali Reza (Dhaka Gazette), Abdul Mannan (Chattogram Mancha), Ali Rashid (News 24 Chattogram), Md. Arman Chowdhury (Daily Amar Somoy), and Arshadul Haque (Daily Suryodoy Dubai).
During the meeting, the leaders of the organization stated that since its establishment in 2001, Probashi Sangbadik Samity has been working for the rights and welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates in the UAE as the first organization of Bangladeshi journalists in the country. In particular, the organization has been playing a significant role in supporting distressed and vulnerable expatriates. They expressed hope that this welfare-oriented work for expatriates would continue in the future as well.
