DSCC worker shot in Jatrabari

A staff of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) was shot by miscreants in the capital’s Jatrabari area on Friday night.

Victim Tanzid, 35, was shot near the Saidabad water pump under Jatrabari at around 10:30PM and later, he was rescued and rushed  to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) emergency unit.

Tanzid is employed as a worker at the Dhaka South City Corporation, reportedly engaged in mosquito control activities.

His friend Mamun, said around 10 to 15 unidentified miscreants arrived at the scene and opened fire on Tanzid, hitting him below the knee of his left leg before fleeing the area.

He could not confirm the motive behind the attack or identify the attackers.

DMCH police camp, said an injured man was brought to the hospital from Jatrabari and admitted to the emergency department.

"We have informed Jatrabari Police Station about the incident."
