Warning signal issued at river ports in 12 regions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has asked river ports in 12 regions to display warning signal No. 1 as gusty winds are expected in the areas.

The forecast was issued on Wednesday.

According to the forecast, temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds from the south-east or east may affect Dhaka, Kushtia, Faridpur, Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet.

Winds may reach speeds of 45-60 kilometres per hour in the areas.

The river ports in these regions have been advised to display warning signal No. 1.
