Banned AL to be dealt with politically, administratively: Anee

Water Resources Minister Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee has said attempts by the banned Awami League to create unrest through flash processions will be dealt with politically and administratively. 

He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after a special meeting on law and order at the Chattogram Circuit House on Wednesday.

Anni said coordinated measures would be taken by the administration, law enforcement agencies and elected representatives to improve the law and order situation in Chattogram. He also said action would be taken against drugs, illegal arms, theft, robbery, mugging, hill cutting and illegal sand extraction. 

Regarding the Awami League, he said the government was taking some difficult measures to move away from a 17-year-long trend. He added that necessary legal measures would also be taken by law enforcement agencies when required.
