Two persons were electrocuted in separate incidents in Feni and Rangamati districts in two days.
FENI: A housewife was electrocuted while trying to remove an electric wire hanging dangerously on the road in Uttar Mohammadpur Village of Boxmahmud Union in Parshuram Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased Nanai Bibi, 50, was the wife of Kashem of the village.
According to local residents and eyewitnesses, after Nanai Bibi touched a live electric wire inadvertently, she was electrocuted. Later, she died on the way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, locals have demanded a proper investigation into the incident and justice for the negligence of the Palli Bidyut authority.
However, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Parashuram Palli Bidyut Samity Sohel Akhter denied the allegations of negligence.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Parshuram Model Police Station (PS) Ashraful Islam confirmed the death.
RANGAMATI: A day labourer was electrocuted while working on the electrical line of his house in the Mahajanpara area of Langadu Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased Benson Chakma, 30, was the son of Nil Kanti Chakma of the area.
According to family sources, during working on the electricity connection of his house in the morning, Benson Chakma was inadvertently electrocuted.
Langadu PS OC Md Zakaria said that the process of filing an unnatural death case in this incident is underway.
