KMP holds meet on security arrangement for Ashura

KHULNA, June 20: A views-exchange meeting was held on Saturday in the conference room of the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) headquarters to discuss comprehensive security measures for the observance of Holy Ashura.

The meeting, held at 11:30 am, brought together KMP officials and leaders of the Shia community to review security-related issues and ensure the peaceful observance of the religious occasion.

KMP Additional Police Commissioner (Admin and Finance and in-charge of Crime and Operations) Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan presided over the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, the additional police commissioner said KMP remains committed to maintaining communal harmony and a peaceful environment in the city.

He said adequate police personnel would be deployed at important locations, intelligence surveillance would be strengthened, and all necessary security measures had been taken for the occasion.

He also urged leaders of the Shia community to extend full cooperation to the police in maintaining law and order during the observance of Holy Ashura.

The meeting discussed in detail various security arrangements aimed at ensuring the peaceful and orderly conduct of religious programmes, including the traditional Tazia procession.

Among others, KMP Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Police Commissioner (South) Md. Rezaur Rahman, President of Khalishpur Bazme Hossaini Muharram Committee Md. Kawsar Ali, General Secretary Md. Shahajad Hossain Tekka, and other leaders of the Shia community attended the meeting.
