KMP Addl Commissioner Rashidul withdrawn

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Additional Commissioner Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan has been withdrawn for his controversial remarks.

According to an official letter, Rashidul has been released from his current duties and directed to report to Police Headquarters by June 21.

On 17 June, during a view exchange meeting at Labanchora Police Station area, Rashidul Islam assured residents that informants' identities would remain confidential when providing information on criminals.

''If any information given to an inspector is leaked, I give my word as a Muslim that I will personally hang that inspector from this tree and you yourselves will beat him to death,” he added.

The controversial remarks circulating on social media have created mixed reactions.
