
PATUAKHALI, June 17: Snehangshu Sarkar Kutty, President of Patuakhali District BNP and Administrator of the District Council, said, "For the past 17 years, one party has wept crocodile tears during elections, used all the Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians of this country to get votes, and then, when it came to action, turned against them, seized their land, occupied their temples, and subjected them to injustice and oppression through frivolous lawsuits."
Leaders of the Patuakhali District branch of Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Welfare Front staged a protest march and rally in Patuakhali against the anti-state conspiracies, anarchy, and terrorist activities of the banned fascist Awami League (AL).
The protest march started from the launch ghat area at noon on Saturday, paraded through various town streets, and ended in front of the Patuakhali Press Club on Sadar Road. Later, a brief rally was held there, presided over by Convener Parimal Kumar Roy and conducted by the Member Secretary of the Front's district branch. The chief guest was Snehangshu Sarkar Kutty.
Others who spoke included Debashish Sitdar (Kala) from Kalapara Upazila, Tapan Ganguli from Galachipa, Nitai Debnath from Bauphal, and Asim Kumar Das (Nantu), Convener from Dashmina, all from the Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Welfare Front.
