The second session of the 13th Parliament will resume on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, after a week-long recess following the passage of a Tk 9,38,000-crore national budget for 2026-27 fiscal year on June 30.
The Tuesday’s sitting of the Second session will begin at 3:00pm.
The Public Examinations (Offences) (Amendment) Bill, 2026 is likely to be passed in the Parliament, in order to bring changes to the existing law of 1980.
Besides, Bogura University Bill, 2026 will be placed in a bid to abolish the existing Bogura University of Science and Technology, according to the schedule.
At the outset of the sitting, the question-and-answer session will be held on the Ministry of Water Resources, the Law and Justice Division, the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, the Public Administration Ministry, the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry and Bangladesh Public Service Commission.
Earlier on June 30, the second session of the current parliament was adjourned immediately after the passage of the budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury placed the proposed budget on June 11, four days after the budget session started on June 07.
This year, the general discussion on the budget was held for 45 hours and 51 minutes and a total of 291 MPs joined the discussion.

Earlier, 25 MPs, 18 from the ruling party BNP and seven from the opposition, participated in the discussion on the supplementary budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year, which lasted three hours and three minutes.
Altogether, 316 MPs took part in the discussions on both the national budget and the supplementary budget, with the discussions continuing for a combined 48 hours and 51 minutes.
