2,779 students in Bandarban receive Tk 1.5cr scholarship 

BANDARBAN, July 6: The Bandarban Hill District Council has distributed scholarship worth Tk 1.5 crore to 2,779 meritorious and underprivileged students from educational institutions across the district to support their studies.

At a scholarship distribution programme held at the Bandarban Hill District Council auditorium on Sunday, Council Chairman Prof Thanjama Lusai handed over scholarship grants to 1,323 students studying at schools, colleges and universities in the second phase of the initiative.

The programme was attended by the council's Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Executive Officer Muhammad Abul Mansur, Council Member Md Nasir Uddin, other council officials, and students from various educational institutions.

Organisers said a total of Tk 1.5 crore in scholarship has been distributed among 2,779 students in two phases this year. They added that the programme will continue in the coming years to encourage students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
