The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has introduced ‘Clean Care,’ a digital waste management platform designed to modernize sanitation services, enhance transparency, and strengthen citizen participation in maintaining a cleaner city.
The application was officially launched on Tuesday at the Nagar Bhaban Auditorium by DSCC Administrator and Bir Muktijoddha Md. Abdus Salam, who said the initiative marks a significant step toward building a smarter and more efficient urban waste management system.
Through the Clean Care app, residents can report waste management and sanitation-related problems directly from their smartphones. Users will be able to track the status of their complaints in real time, view the name and contact details of the responsible official, and monitor the progress of complaint resolution. The platform also allows citizens to provide feedback on the quality of services after their complaints have been addressed, creating a more transparent and accountable service delivery mechanism.
Addressing the event, Md. Abdus Salam said technology-driven governance has become indispensable for modern cities. He noted that the digital platform would enable DSCC to analyze waste generation patterns across different neighborhoods, identify areas requiring additional manpower or transport support, and make informed decisions based on real-time data.
According to the administrator, the system will improve the efficiency of waste collection, transportation, and disposal while reducing operational costs through better coordination and resource management. He emphasized that the success of the initiative depends largely on active public participation and urged city residents to use the application regularly to help keep Dhaka clean.
The Clean Care app is available for download from the Google Play Store, where users can register using their mobile phone numbers.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Air Commodore Md. Mahbubur Rahman Talukdar, Chief Waste Management Officer of the Dhaka South City Corporation.
