Controversy couldn't overshadow Argentina's incredible comeback.
Questions over refereeing decisions and VAR will continue to dominate discussions following Argentina's dramatic comeback victory over Egypt in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16. Critics have pointed to several controversial moments, with Egypt's players and coaching staff arguing that key decisions unfairly influenced the outcome. The officiating has become one of the biggest talking points after the match.
However, even those who question the fairness of the officiating may find it difficult to ignore another undeniable aspect of the contest, Argentina's relentless determination.
Trailing by two goals until the 79th minute, the defending champions refused to surrender. Instead of losing belief, they continued attacking with intensity, wave after wave. Every passing minute, every passing second, Argentina pushed forward in search of a way back into the game.

Reports after the game highlighted Egypt's frustration over several key incidents, including disputed VAR interventions and penalty appeals.
Yet the controversy should not completely overshadow Argentina's fighting spirit.
Being two goals down with little more than ten minutes remaining, many teams would have accepted defeat. Argentina did the opposite. They kept pressing, kept believing and kept creating chances until the final whistle.
Fans may disagree on whether the victory was entirely fair. They may continue debating the referee's performance for years to come. But Argentina's refusal to give up their relentless pursuit of a comeback until the very last moment is a display of resilience that deserves recognition.
You may question the officiating.
You may question the decisions.
But the effort, determination and belief shown by Argentina in the closing stages deserve nothing less than a standing ovation.
